What is INMP?

The International Network of Museums for Peace (INMP) is a global association that brings together museums, memorials, and organizations dedicated to fostering peace, nonviolence, and reconciliation through education and cultural exchange. Founded in 1992, the INMP seeks to promote awareness of peace history, the human costs of war, and the importance of building peaceful societies. Through its global network, the INMP connects institutions and individuals who share the mission of cultivating peace by preserving and presenting the histories and narratives of peace movements, peacebuilders, and the devastating impacts of conflict. The INMP acts as a platform for collaboration, facilitating dialogue and cooperation between peace museums, researchers, educators, and the public. It organizes international conferences, workshops, and exhibitions, offering members the opportunity to share their projects, ideas, and resources, while inspiring the development of new peace initiatives. The network also encourages the exchange of expertise and best practices in peace education, museum curation, and exhibition design, with a focus on promoting mutual understanding and tolerance. With members spanning all continents, the INMP continues to serve as a vital resource for those committed to the cause of peace. Whether through historical exhibits, educational programs, or cultural activities, its members work tirelessly to advocate for a world free from war and conflict. The INMP is a powerful reminder that museums are not just spaces of remembrance, but also agents of change that can help shape a more peaceful future
